Keeping Those Family Recipes with CreateMyCookbook

October 29, 2018 · In: Home Design & DIY

This post is sponsored by CreateMyCookbook; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Being in the kitchen is one of my favorite past times, whether it be baking or cooking up dinner. There is just something about it. My most favorite part of it is when I am using older recipes, particularly those from within the family. These are the best! Having all these favorite recipes in one spot makes life not only easier, but also a piece of mind knowing that they are safe. No more worrying now that I have CreateMyCookbook.

So what is CreateMyCookbook? It is a site that is here to help you create a personalized cookbook in a breeze. You can add whatever recipes you want and design it all yourself.

Cookbook Designer.

The Cookbook Designer allows you to customize your fonts, layouts, and more. I love this feature! Some pages you can add pictures, while others you can just have the recipe alone. Plus, who doesn’t love to be able to choose their own font?

No time to type each recipe?

Sometimes it is the time factor that may get in our way when wanting to start a new project. That is not the case with CreateMyCookbook. If you don’t have time, you can snap pictures of your recipe and submit it to WeTypeIt. They will have your recipes typed and loaded within a few hours. Now that is a win!

I know that I was overwhelmed about putting all of my favorite family recipes into a personal cookbook at first. When was I going to find the time to enter every single one? Problem solved!

How to use CreateMyCookbook.

Now that I have told you all about CreateMyCookbook, let’s get to the part of how to put it together. I first rounded up all of my favorite recipes that I knew I wanted to have in my personal cookbook. Once I had all of my recipes, it was then entering them into the recipe box. WeTypeIt is great at this point if you don’t have the time to enter each recipe yourself. The recipe box is where you will pull all of the recipes for your cookbook. I decided on my design, font, and font color next.

I had so much fun at this step, putting the cookbook together. The addition of my own pictures made it even more special!

I could not wait to order my cookbook once I had it completed. I was able to preview it a few times before publishing it. As I wait anxiously for my cookbook to arrive, I will be using my ecookbook version. Thank goodness for having that add-on option for on the go!

Gosh, I would LOVE to create my own cook book. Not that I have many recipes but I can see this as a great idea for my kids when they go off to college. Love it …

I think this is a wonderful idea! Storing recipes online will help preserve family favorites, or some of grandma’s recipes that have been handed down.

Keeping your recipes is really important. Starting with how you keep it and maintain the book’s condition, it is better to store it in computers. Surely, typing takes time. This will surely help you out! This is such a very interesting post 🙂

Yes! This is why I LOVE CreateMyCookbook. My mother in law loves to cook as so did her mother. She has all sorts of recipes that I have been able to get. Glad I can keep them all in one place now!

This is a great idea. But I would like to keep my mum’s recipe’s that are handwritten. She’s late now but I treasure the recipes.
Is there an opportunity to create a cookbook with a blend of handwritten and typed recipes?

    • thesproutingminds@gmail.com says

      November 5, 2018 at 8:15 pm

I think the best way to do that would be to take a picture of the actual handwritten recipe. Then you could upload it into the cookbook! Love those special handwritten recipes 🙂
