Raspberry and Rosemary Wrapped Baked Brie should be on everyone’s menu.
I wasn’t too sure how I would feel about brie the first time I tried it. I am sure glad I gave it a try because it is a good one! I love that you can pair it with different flavors to bring a whole new dish to the table. This Raspberry and Rosemary Wrapped Baked Brie is both tangy and fresh, meaning it is really good!
Cheese is always a good appetizer.
I seriously can’t think of a time where I didn’t have cheese on the appetizer menu. It is either served in slices, dips or stuffed into something. In the case of this recipe, the brie will be wrapped in crescent rolls. Of course, this is one things you can switch out with this recipe. If you aren’t a fan of crescent rolls or can’t find them, you can easily switch it out for puff pastry dough! Easy peasy!
I like to think of things that seem to pair well with cheese. Brie cheese has a distinct flavor. It is like it has a smoky but tangy flavor. For me, it pairs well with fruits and things sweet. You can also add some salty into the mix. If you add salty, like bacon pieces, I would also add a fruit/sweet spread.
Raspberry and rosemary.
Rosemary is one herb that is one of my favorites. I love to add it to robust recipes like this one. The brie cheese deserves a great herb like rosemary. Raspberry on the other hand is one of my favorite fruits in a spread. I love raspberry jam and preserves. It brings both sweetness with a touch of tartness, making it not too sweet when adding it to something tangy.
Raspberry and rosemary together is like ‘Oh my goodness’. If you have seen the Disney movie “Ratatouille“, then imagine how Remy the rat describes the combination of flavors. Yep. That’s how I feel about this combination.
Does it have to be wrapped?
Okay, here is another ‘up to you’ moments. If you choose to not wrap it all, you will cut the time down to only 5-7 minutes, when the cheese is starting to melt. I personally like the wrapped brie because it not only is pretty, but brings more texture to the dish.
How do i serve it?
Brie can be served with fruit (apples) or crackers. The fact that its wrapped in bread means you could even cut into it and eat it with the crescent rolls it is wrapped in. In this recipe, you will note that I served it with crackers.
