I remember the first time I saw these shrunken heads. They really do look creepy, but somewhat cute at the same time. You know what else? These Shrunken Apple Heads are simple to make! All you need to do is peel a few granny smith apples, allow them to soak in lemon juice & salt, carve out the little faces, and allow to dry out! That’s it! You can be as creative as you want to be when it comes to the detail of the faces. I kept it pretty simple and think they came out great.
The longer these apples sit, the more dried out they will look. I allowed my apples to bake at 170 for about 4 hours. You could prep these the day before, pop the in an air tight container and place in the fridge before using the following day.

This Simple Shrunken Head Witches Brew contains 3 main ingredients. These include a lemon-lime carbonated beverage, lemonade, and Hawaiian Shaved Ice Sour Apple Flavor. The lemonade adds that sweet-tartness while the lemon-lime carbonated beverage brings that much needed fizzle. Now the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Sour Apple Flavor truly brings the flavor. I love how well it pairs with the shrunken apple heads!

Simple Shrunken Head Witches Brew
Halloween is fun to celebrate with friends and family and this Simple Spooky Witches Brew is the perfect delicious and spooky punch for all to enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2 cups lemon juice
- 2 tbsp salt
- 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled
- 1/2 liter lemonade
- 1/2 liter lemon-lime soft drink
- 3/4 cup of Hawaiian Shaved Ice Sour Green Apple Flavoring
Instructions
- Mix the lemon juice and salt in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- Place the peeled granny smith apples into the lemon and salt mixture and stir to get them covered; allow them to sit for about 30 minutes.
- Take the soaking granny smith apples and carve eyes, a nose and a mouth into one side of them. You can be as creative as you want to with these faces!
- Place the apples back into the lemon and salt mixture for another hour.
- After the hour, place them on a lined cookie sheet and bake at 170 for about 2 hours, until the faces start looking more shrunken from drying out. Allow to cool while mixing up the brew.
- Time to prepare the rest of the witches brew! Add the lemonade and lemon-lime soft drink to a large beverage bowl or in this case, a metal bowl placed inside of a witches cauldron.
- Mix those 2 drinks up. Then add the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Sour Green Apple Flavor. This will give the brew more flavor and that fun bright green coloring!
- Add the shrunken apple heads before serving!
