We have officially been in school for almost 1 month now. It of course would have been a little bit over a month if Hurricane Ida did not make an appearance here in Louisiana a little over 2 weeks ago. Now that school is back in session, we can finally focus on the necessities for the school year. Here are a few tips for making the most of the new school year!

Being prepared before the week begins.
As I am typing this, I am reminding myself of how important this tip truly is. Once school is back in session, you have to come up with a plan to make your week go smoothly. Do not get me wrong here. No matter how much prepping you put into the school year, there will always be a wrench that finds its way a few times into your well planned routine.
This is why I try my best to stay a head of all things by being prepped before the week begins. This means I have a ‘rough draft’ of our weekly meals and have the fridge and pantry stocked with lunch and snack items. The worst thing is to realize the morning of that you need something and there is not running to the store last minute to grab it. One thing I would like to do more of is packing my kids’ lunches the night before. Speaking of kids’ lunches, I have to share these super cute lunchbox notes with y’all!
Notes for the lunchbox.
Do you like to leave little notes in your kid’s lunchbox? I used to leave the on little sticky notes, but they would always get put to the side once my kids opened their lunchboxes. Well, that is not the case anymore thanks to MyWish4U Lunch Note from Me! These super cute tear-off lunch notes are easy to use and are the perfect way to let your kid know that you are thinking about them while they are at school.

MyWish4U Lunch Notes also have educational notes on them, keeping your kids engaged and wanting to see what will be on the next lunch note you send. These are inexpensive and can be picked up at Target or www.mywish4u.com for only $4.99!

Schools in session and so is all the playing and extracurricular activities!
One thing that gets revved up along with the educational aspect of going back to school is the playing and extracurricular activities. My kids love this probably the most about school. This also means there is a possibility of more scars that will pop up due to falls, etc. Thankful that there is now a product for kids that is clinically proven to reduce the overall appearance of scars.

Mederma Scar Cream for Kids is not only easy to use, but it is a gel that goes on purple and rubs clear with a kid-friendly scent! Mederma Scar Cream has a unique triple action formula that penetrates beneath the surface of your kid’s skin to help with cell renewal, lock in moisture, and collagen production. Remember, Mederma Scar Cream is great for not only new scars, but also old scars caused by cuts, scrapes, burns, stitches, insect bites, and surgery.

Keep the learning going on while at home.
It is easy to just cut off the idea of education and school once everyone is back in home. It is good to take a break from all the strenuous school work, but it is also important to keep the idea of learning fun with a home activity. This is why I am a huge fan of STEM. As a teacher myself, I believe STEM activities are great for kids. It truly lets them dive deep into learning while having fun at the the same time. STEM Like A Girl is a book that this teacher mom is all about!
STEM Like A Girl is includes 15 do-it-yourself experiments and projects that provides STEM concepts. If you have never heard of STEM, STEM stands for: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It takes these 4 components and makes them into activities that will make anyone feel on top of the world after completing. I love how this book profiles 35 diverse girls and who share why science is fun for them and how it has helped them gain in confidence through embracing it! I have two daughters, and this couldn’t be more important to me.

My oldest started middle school this year, and to have her gain confidence in herself as well as grow her love for science would be absolutely amazing. This is a must for any girl ages 8-12!
Making the most of it all now that school is back in Session.
I hope you all have a wonderful school year, and make the most of it all now that school is back in session! Do you have any tips that make your school year go smoothly? Share them with me if so!
Hugs!
