Home decorating is something I love to do, but is also something that can really stress me out. The shopping for all those trinkets, floral arrangements, canvas art, and picture frames is the part I love most. Who doesn’t love to shop? Then there is the figuring out and planning what I actually want that stresses me out. A mantle is one of those places in my house that will drive me crazy when it comes to decorating.
When it comes to decorating your mantle, you want to have it set up just right. Mantles are normally the focal point of most rooms. I have been trying to figure out the ‘mantle’ shelf in my master bedroom for a while now. Do I want just picture frames, or trinkets and picture frames? The options always appear to be endless…endless amounts of stressing out what will work best for what I have to work with. This was until I received a canvas print from Canvas Champ!

How does Canvas Champ work?
I knew I wanted a picture of all 3 of my kids to be the main piece on my mantle. I had a gallery wall in my master bedroom already dedicated to my husband and I: wedding pictures, engagements pictures, you get the idea. The question that I couldn’t find an answer to was how many picture frames or the sizes of the picture frames. Then there was Canvas Champ. I ordered a 16″ x 20″ canvas print of my 3 kids from this past Easter. It was perfect!
Not only was it of great quality, but I also received it quickly. The canvas came with wall hanging accessories already attached to the back! This is one thing that I have found an issue with at times with any type of canvas decor, no wall hanging accessories. I am always having to attached them myself. Who has that extra time to waste? So how does Canvas Champ work? It is simple! All you have to do is decide on what you are wanting: a gallery wall, a single canvas to fill one void spot, maybe even a mantle piece similar to what I wanted. They even have an Idea Gallery page to help you decide what your are looking for and how to achieve exactly that. Since I knew I wanted a single canvas for my mantle, I had to decide on the picture I wanted on display. Once I had that figured out, I selected the size, 16″ x 20″, and uploaded my picture. Then selected add to cart. That was it. Couldn’t have been any easier.
I was decorating my mantle within a week. While I waited for my package to arrive, I quickly made a few runs to pick up the rest of the trinkets for my mantle. I was ready to go by the time I received my canvas.

Now to the fun part of decorating. Once I had my canvas and all my trinkets, it was time to figure out the arrangement. I love the look of a mantle that has a balanced, but uneven look at the same time. What does that mean? When you have different trinkets of different sizes on display, but they all seem to balance each other out. I don’t put too many things on one side compared to the other. I also don’t have everything the same height. It gives the eye something to look for when you arrange your mantle with trinkets of different sizes. 
The picture of my kids had to be the center piece, of course. I then worked my way out with all my trinkets, adding some fake flowers in the mixture with it being spring. I LOVE flowers to be used in decorating. Candles and books are my next go to when it comes to home decor. It took me a bit of moving items around before I had it just right! Another fun decorating idea for mantles is to add in seasonal decor along the way. So for spring, I have my flowers. For the fall, I can add fake mini pumpkins instead of the flowers.
