Boating Fun for the Entire Family

Boating Fun for the Entire Family

June 18, 2018 · In: Travel

This post is sponsored by Discover Boating but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Although I am from the South, I cannot say I know a whole lot about boats. Sure I have been on a boat or two, mainly for some fishing and cruising. This was all made possible by having friends or family owning a boat. Now that I have a crew of my own, anything involving a boat may seem impossible. Well, think again! Discover Boating is the perfect online resource to help get you on the water to experience the fun of boating.

Boating Fun for the Entire Family

Family fun on the water.

According to the National Marine Manufacturers Association, 142 million Americans (adults and children) go boating each year. There is nothing more fun than getting the family together and out on the water! This is can be done locally or even while on vacation with the help of Discover Boating. You wouldn’t imagine all the different places where boating is possible. We normally associate riding on a boat with being on the coast or near a beach, but there are endless opportunities of where you can enjoy boating. We learned all about this on our most recent family vacation.

Boating Fun for the Entire Family

While visiting Lake Lure, North Carolina, we did not just do the typical mountain adventuring. We rented a boat and were able to spend a day out on the water of Lake Lure. It was a fun sight-seeing adventure! All the kids and adults had a blast venturing out on the water for the day. So what all is there to do while out on the water with the family?

What all can one do while out on the water?

There is so much one can do while spending the day out on the water. Water sports are fun for those physically able. These activities include: tubing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and wakesurfing. If water sports are not an option, fishing is always a lot of fun! We love to go fishing! We unfortunately weren’t able to fit in fishing while out on Lake Lure. Instead, we got some great sight seeing in as well as some pit stop swimming. Found a little beachy area and tied down the boat while the kids got a chance to swim for a bit.

Boating Fun for the Entire Family

Nothing is more fun than eating those packed lunches while hanging out on the boat, surrounded by water and the beautiful scenery! Did I mention it is a great way to get those little ones to nap? Just something about the sound of the water and the relaxing movement of the boat across the water. If I were to be completely honest here, I could have napped right along side them.

It is all about Discover Boating.

Leave the planning and figuring out to Discover Boating. They are your perfect resource in trying to figure out what boats are available for renting and where. You will find all of the following while visiting Discover Boating online: Boating Fun for the Entire Family

I love the sound of this resource! It’s a bit of a joke in our family that all I do is talk about how much I want to get out on the water on every holiday. We almost never end up doing it though. Our last holiday we did end up kayaking which was fab – but a proper boat would be a dream!

We had a boat when I was younger. I loved it, even if we just took it on the little man made canal by our house. Now whenever we go on vacay, we make sure to hop on a boat trip of some sort!

Yes! I grew up on a boat and had so much fun! We try and do the same with all our family vacations. I hope to be getting a family boat soon 🙂

HUGE fan of Odele products, like their Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner ( for intense hydration to restore + nourish) as well as their one and only Air Dry Styler ( smooths, conditions, gives soft separation for air dry perfection and made with plant proteins).

Did I mention their products are also Sulfate-free, derm-tested, cruelty-free, vegan formulas made with 100% natural fragrance or none at all?! I mean, what else can we ask for?! Oh and this super cute tote bag is a huge bonus 🖤🤍

2 chicken breast ( butterfly them open)
1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs
~ 1 tbsp Aglio Olio Seasoning Blend ( Trader Joe’s)
2-3 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 roll bread of Garlic Parmesan Butter ( from TJ)
Pack of noodles ( Gigli from TJ)
4oz Cream Cheese
12oz Shredded Italian Cheese ( Quattro Formaggi from TJ)
1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese
Mozzarella Peals
16 oz Chicken Bone Broth
Salt & Pepper to taste ( plus salt water for pasta)

Preheat oven to 350.
Prepare noodles, drain and set aside- want to be al dente.
In small bowl, add Aglio Olio and bread crumbs to bowl and mix; butterfly chicken breasts and toss in olive oil, then cover in bread crumbs mixture.
Heat about 1 tbsp of oil in Caraway saute pan, and cook chicken for about ~4 minutes each side. Remove chicken and add cheese on top and place in oven to bake for ~15 minutes.
While chicken bakes, add the butter to sauté pan and melt; add chicken bone broth; once heated, add cream cheese and cheeses. Stir on and off ( make sure cheese doesn’t stick and burn) and add seasonings. Once cheeses have melted, toss in pasta. Sprinkle rest of cheese on top as well as scattered mozzarella pearls. Put lid on and lower heat to low, allow to cook longer to melt cheese. Serve with chicken! #FriendsOfCaraway #traderjoesfinds #traderjoeshaul #onedish
