Nothing like pigs in a blanket, but make them easy air fryer pigs in a blanket with cheese.
Like some of my other recipes, pigs in a blanket are a classic favorite. I have been enjoying pigs in a blanket for as long as I can remember! The ease of making them and the fact they are practically a delicious twist on a hot dog makes these a game winner, perfect for a Super Bowl party.
Pigs in a blanket.
It is even more fun to enjoy pigs in a blanket when you have kids to make them for. My youngest giggles when we mention the name ‘pigs in a blanket.’ She of course then questions why these crescent roll wrapped Lit’l Smokies are called pigs in a blanket. I, of course, do not go into all the details in that one.
Lit’l Smokies are not the same as hot dogs, although the resemble a much smaller version of them. They are a type of sausage that is made from a variety of meats. This includes beef, pork, and turkey. Then they are smoked, which gives them that characteristic flavor.
Take those delicious small links and wrap them with the puffy dough sheet. It is almost like a blanket, is it not? I would like to be wrapped up in a crescent roll 😉
Bake or just air fry.
It wasn’t until recently that I decided to try out putting these pigs in a blanket in an air fryer, making them easy air fryer pigs in a blanket with cheese. If you don’t have an air fryer or not in the mood to make these in the air fryer (although the title of this recipe is ‘easy air fryer pigs in a blanket with cheese’), you can still bake these. I just make them as usual and bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes.
What exactly is the difference between and air fryer and baking in the oven? An air fryer cooks foods by using only a heating element and a fan. The fan circulates the heat and hot air which is what helps cook the food and make it crisp. A great way to cook these pigs in a blanket, without having to use oil for frying.
More than easy with only 3 ingredients.

I mean, this easy air fryer pigs in a blanket with cheese recipe makes no prep mess, only contains 3 ingredients, and practically no cooking mess if you use air fryer liners. That sounds like a more than simple recipe! This is what makes pigs in a blanket such a great appetizer option.
