An on a budget home workout area made easy!
With all that has been going on the past year, I have been making the transition to workout from home. Going to the gym was always so much easier. The availability of workout materials as well as the environment always made working out at the gym a must. Well, that was until I created my own easy home workout area and one on a budget!
It doesn’t have to be pricey.
The first thought that goes through many of our heads when we think of an at home gym is
Man, this is going to be expensive!
Where do we find home gym ideas for a small space? Let me tell y’all something, that is accurate but also not so accurate. It is all based no how you go about creating your at home workout area. If you go into it with the mindset of being on a budget, it can happen on a budget. I knew that was exactly what I wanted. An area in my office where I could workout but also not spend a heck of a lot of money. Here is how I created an easy home workout area, the perfect home workout space on a budget!
Start the planning.
First comes the planning. What kind of space are you working with? Is is a large area or is it only a corner space? I did not have a whole lot of space for the home gym. I knew I was limited in the way I was going to have to organize my weights. Cubical storage was my first thought. We use these in my kids’ rooms and know that they provide a lot of help with keeping things organized.
I also knew that I wanted some sort of basket to store my yoga mat and foam roller. Let’s see what all I can find!
sHop for the sales.
I started checking out all that Target had to offer. Guess what I found? 2 storage cubes half off! I got each one for $12. These are very sturdy and can be hung on the wall. Love this option! I just stacked mine on top of each other for now. Target has really great sales if you keep your eyes open.
I also lucked out and got a plastic weave basket for $7. I went with the plastic since I know how much of a sweaty mess I can be. This basket will be a lot easer to clean than a straw or metal basket. I also wanted to store my dumbbells and was able to grab this super cute gold weight rack for only $15! It is perfect for working with a limited space.
Other ideas would include a peg board on the wall to hang ropes and bands. I already had a mirror in this space. A mirror elevates the area as well as gives you a focal point to make sure you are using the correct form while working out.
set it all up.
Now for setting it all up! This is the fun part. You can finally put what you envisioned together. Y’all. Welcome to the wonderful feeling of creating your very own home workout area and one on a budget!
Let’s do this!
You know what is next? Getting that motivation to find the time to workout in your new space. This space is for self care and focusing on yourself. Being in the moment. Whenever I enter into my office, I remind myself of this. I am present for myself and will create the time to focus on my own mental health and well being. I hope you all find this helpful in creating a beautiful space to workout and check out these other posts for some at home style inspiration.
