Puffy Glitter Paint for Easter Eggs

How to: Puffy Glitter Paint for Easter Eggs

March 24, 2020 · In: Lifestyle, Kid's Activities

If you are anything like me, you have probably been searching around for all the crafts you can do with your kids during this quarantine. There are so many different crafts you can do with your kids: from the not-so-messy to the ‘oh my gosh, call in the cleaning crew’ type of crafts. Here is one that is not only easy and not too messy, but also gets everyone ready for Easter: diy puffy glitter paint!

We all love some puffy paint!

I can remember how much I loved using puffy paint as a child. It was the coolest paint around! I knew I wanted to do some craft with my kids that would put us in the Easter mood, but couldn’t put my finger on exactly what. It was a mixture of the shaving cream egg dyeing and wanting to do something with glitter. We could all use some extra sparkle these days!

Enter in this diy puffy paint glitter paint. It is made with only 3 ingredients and is exactly what I was wanting to accomplish in the world of arts and crafts!

A little bit of glitter in my life, a little bit of shaving cream on the side, and a little bit of glue is what I need.

For this glitter puffy paint, you will only need shaving cream, basic school glue, and glitter. We used some plastic Easter eggs we had around the house from last year, but you also can use boiled eggs! It was so much easier for us to use the plastic eggs.

Another thing you can add is coloring to the puffy paint. This is done by adding a few drops of food coloring. Just note this will ‘dye’ the kids’ hands for a bit. May make things a little more interesting during quarantine 😉

What you need: school glue, shaving cream, plastic or hard boiled eggs, and glitter!

Mix an equal amount of shaving cream and chilled school glue in a bowl (I placed the school glue in the refrigerator early in the morning, and used it later in the day, about 4-5 hours in refrigerator).

Once you mix the shaving cream and school glue, add whatever glitter you want to the mix. You will also add the food coloring now as well. Now, decorate those eggs!

It will take a few hours for the paint to dry. We just put them to the side and continued on with our homeschooling or outdoor play while they dried!

Have left over paint? You can paint with it on paper! My kids thought it was so cool to paint with this puffy paint. No better time than now to get that imagination flowing.

Ingredients:

2lbs ground meat
1/2 white onion, diced
1 - 28oz can of whole peeled tomatoes
1 -18oz of tomato sauce
16.9oz Kettle & Fire Chicken Broth
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan
16oz ricotta cheese
1lb of Gigli Noodles
Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and Italian seasoning

Brown ground meat and sauté onions on med-high heat; add tomatoes and sauce and cook until tomatoes cook down, add seasonings; add noodles and broth; make sure all noodles are covered before putting lid on pan. Cook for about ~15 minutes, until noodles are al dente. While noodles cook, prep ricotta cheese mixture ( ricotta, 3/4c mozzarella and 1/4c Parmesan) as well as seasoned with Italian seasoning and salt.

Once noodles are done, fold in ~1/4c mozzarella then top with more mozzarella and place lid- heat on low - just to melt cheeses; now top with ricotta mixture and place in oven under broil with no lid long enough to lightly brown ricotta cheese and melt it.

Enjoy!!
