Summer memories and outdoor movie night with s’mores.
Can you believe summer is almost over?. One of the best ways to celebrate the summer months is with family outdoor fun. Here is how we are making the most of family time this summer with movies and s’mores!

How to be creative with family movie night.
It is so easy, as well as fun, to have family movie nights. No better way to bond with your kids than with sharing your favorite snacks while watching a great movie. Since we are celebrating this summer in our new home, we knew we needed to have outdoor movie night with s’mores!

My kids are always rooting for s’mores. I mean, always. If we are unable to make our s’mores outdoors with a campfire of some sort, then they will opt to do it indoors in the microwave. S’mores are such a great snack for kids to put together. This makes it an even better choices for movie nights!

The kids can easily gather all the ingredients needed: Honey Maid Graham Crackers, Hershey’s Chocolate Bars, and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows. Can I tell you that I was thrilled about the marshmallows! They are the perfect size, especially when you are assembling the s’mores. I placed all my ingredients in my Walmart Grocery order and did a quick drive-by pick-up. Easily done even when you have kids in tow over the summer months.
Creating a drive-in cardboard car.
Besides having all the ingredients for s’mores, what else do you need for this outdoor movie night with the family? If you are hosting this movie night with little kids, then they would love a drive-in cardboard car. As I mentioned earlier, we moved into our new home at the beginning of summer. We have had lots of extra cardboard boxes lying around. All you need to create these drive-in cardboard cars is a cardboard box big enough for your child, paint, and a paint brush.

Voila! Creating a cardboard car for a drive-in movie is done in a jiffy. Once we created our drive-in cardboard car, we were ready for s’mores and a movie! My youngest was excited about having a drive-in car!

The perfect outdoor movie night with s’mores.
Some of you may be thinking ‘How am I to have the perfect outdoor movie night with my family?’. We already have talked about what we need for the delicious s’mores that always finds a way to bond all of us with their melted chocolate and marshmallow graham crackers sandwiches, as well as the cardboard car component for little kids. Now for the movie aspect.

You first want to make sure the movie you are wanting to watch with the family is when that is family approved. Once you have your movie picked out, you need to decide how you and your family will watch it while outdoors. There are 3 options: a tv set up outside, a projector and a white bed sheet, or a tv set up near a window facing the backyard.
If you do not have the means to safely plug in a tv outdoors, then you can use a projector that aims the video on to a white bed sheet fixed on a fence. When neither of these options are possible, you can always safely place the tv near a window facing the backyard. Set up the drive-in movie facing that window. It does not matter how you set it up because your child is going to be thrilled to be spending time with family outdoors and with s’mores!
Happy family memories and outdoor fun.
The summer months are meant for making all those outdoor family memories. It is the time to let loose and enjoy each other while you do not have the stress of school assignments or activities. The outdoor movie night with s’mores is a wonderful way to make those memories and enjoy a delicious summer snack with family. Grab those s’mores ingredients at Walmart and get to making those memories!
Hugs!
