Protecting Kids’ Skin During the Summer: Eczema

The warmer weather is here in Louisiana, and so is trying to keep my kids’ skin protected from all that the sun brings. The heat and humidity is unreal in Louisiana, but thankfully there are products like Vaseline to help keep the eczema at bay.

Eczema and my kids’ skin.

We first noticed how sensitive my kids’ skin was when they were only a year old. During the warmer months, their skin will get dry patches that will become red when irritated too much. There are many steps that we take to help prevent this as well as care for their skin when their eczema does flare up. Protecting Skin from Eczema

Luke warm baths.

Did you know that taking too hot baths or showers can encourage an eczema flare up? Just like the hot summer temperatures, if a bath is too warm it can cause my kids’ eczema to flare up. We avoid this by making sure their bath water isn’t too warm.

Treating eczema flare ups with Vaseline Clinical Care™ Eczema Calming Lotion

Thank goodness for a product that will help calm down my kids’ eczema when it begins to flare up. When their eczema flares up, so does all the itching and scratching. I try to stay on top of this by applying Vaseline Clinical Care™ Eczema Calming Lotion from our local Family Dollar as soon as I start seeing or feeling the dry patches. So how does it work to soothe eczema? Protecting Skin from Eczema  Vaseline Clinical Care™ Eczema Calming Lotion is a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free daily body cream that provides relief for itching and irritation due to eczema. It also contains a colloidal oatmeal skin protectant formulated with a unique Barrier Repair Complex™ to strengthen skin’s barrier. This is exactly what my kids’ skin needs! It gives their skin that much needed moisture along with a skin barrier so that it can heal and not be so itchy. I can apply this lotion daily or as needed, particularly after bath time. Protecting Skin from Eczema  I never thought that I would find such a great product for my kids’ eczema at Family Dollar! It has the same high quality personal care and beauty brands you know and love, but for a great value. Huge win for this momma who loves to find bargains on things that I love and approve for my family. You can now save even more when shopping at Family Dollar by using Family Dollar Smart Coupons. Apply that sunscreen.

Sunscreen is so important in protecting our skin, especially during the summer months. It also helps prevent eczema break outs. Just make sure to use one that is good for sensitive skin.

Enjoying the summer without eczema.

Summer time should be a time for making lots of fun memories without the worry of eczema. Make sure to have Vaseline Clinical Care™ Eczema Calming Lotion to not only help keep eczema at bay but also provide relief when a flare up occurs. Don’t forget to stop by your local Family Dollar to pick up yours as well as other great personal care and beauty products for a great value! Save more with those Family Dollar Smart Coupons. Happy Summer!

Yep, heading to the store to buy this today. I have been having such a terrible eczema flare up on my arm this summer and I think a daily treatment would be so helpful.
