3 back to school must-haves

Best 3 Back to School Must-Haves!

July 22, 2022 · In: Lifestyle, Momlife

My favorite 5 Back to School Must-Haves because they are that good!

Not sure how I feel about writing this back to school post. I have mixed emotions when it comes to a new school year. I am excited about having a set routine because I feel that we thrive off of a regular routine. What I am not so ready for is the early morning starts, the homework, and the what ifs while my kids are at school. Whether I am ready or not, school is right around the corner.

3 back to school must-haves

So I am here to share 3 back to school must-haves that I truly love!

Staying hydrated while at school.

This one has become a bigger deal since covid. The water fountains in our school were disconnect for at least the first half of this past school year. Having a reliable water bottle was a must. Now that I am hooked on water bottles, why not keep them going?

My kids, like many others, should be product testers. Send it off for the day to see how it will return. These is more than true for water bottles. I have one child who loves to chew. Seriously chew. Water bottles that have a rubber mouthpiece are a no go for him. It will come back destroyed and unusable. Another thing is durability of the water bottle itself.

Believe me when I say I have had dented or cracked water bottles return home at the end of 1 school day. 1 SCHOOL DAY. Y’all, I am not exaggerating. So, let me share my favorite water bottles that have made the cut with this destructible crew.

Everyone needs a backpack.

Let’s chat about backpacks. All the kids need them, and they can be such a pain in the butt. All the kids want a specific backpack, and we want them to hold up to the school year. You need to decide which route you want to go. It is obvious that most of the extra glittery and character backpacks will not come out at the end of the school year in good shape.

If you are cool with replacing these mid-year, then that is good. For me, I don’t like having to deal with all of that. My luck normally has it where I can’t find a good replacement mid-year. So I go with a backpack that is durable but also has that ‘I love it’ appeal. Here are the backpacks that have made the 3 back to school must-haves list!

Lunchboxes and Bento Boxes.

What say you about lunch? Do your kids eat school lunch or do you have to pack them lunch? My kids school lunch depending on the school’s lunch menu. So I am usually prepared to make lunches every day unless I see something I know they will eat at school. Bringing food to school has special needs. You need to make sure that food that needs to stay cool, stays cool. You also don’t want feed leaking and spilling out into the lunchbox.

Here are a few options that meet both these standards putting them on the 3 Back to School Must-Haves list!

Grab these 3 Back to School Must-Haves before its too late.

Not trying to be all antsy or anything, but I would go ahead and get all those back to school necessities now if you haven’t already. This way if you need to receive them via shipping, you have plenty of time to get them in! I have found that waiting last minute to get any back to school things has never played in my flavor, and I am taking advantage of the new school year being ready to roll!

A spicy pasta recipe that is so good! Maddy DeVita A spicy pasta recipe that is so good! Maddy DeVita knew what she was doing with this Spicy Tomato Tagliatelle as did @seventhgeneration with their Clementine Zest & Lemongrass Dish Soap, 95% Biobased Formula. It helps tackle grease WITHOUT all the extra effort. Giving more time to delicious meals and family time and not extra when it comes to cleaning!

What you need:
1/2 pound egg tagliatelle
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more if you’re feeling bold)
4 large garlic cloves, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup finely grated parm, plus more for topping Kosher salt, as needed

What you do:
Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil (don’t be shy - this is your pasta’s only chance to season itself properly). Cook the tagliatelle until 1 or 2 minutes shy of al dente, following package instructions.
• While the pasta cooks, warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and let them gently sizzle until fragrant and beginning to brown, about 3 minutes.
Remember, as Nonna would say, “DON’T let the garlic burn!”
• Add the tomato paste to the skillet. Break it up into the oil and fry for about 2 minutes until it deepens in color and gets a little caramelized- this step is key for building the rich flavor of our sauce, don’t skipl
• Add a ladle of pasta water to the skillet and whisk, scraping up any caramelized bits, until a smooth sauce forms.
When the pasta is 1 or 2 minutes shy of al dente, use tongs to transfer the pasta straight from the pot. Toss over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes, adding more pasta water as needed, until the pasta has finished cooking and the sauce has thickened up around the pasta.
• Turn off the heat, then stir in the parm until it melts into the sauce like it belongs there (because it does).
• Serve immediately. Try not to eat it straight from the pan... but no promises.

Enjoy 😘
