Thank you to Montreal Tourisme for providing the tickets to the attractions in Montreal.
I started a bucket list a few years back of all those amazing places I hoped to visit one day. Montreal was one of those destinations near the top of the list. I knew I would one day visit Canada, and specifically Montreal. Luckily, we were able to travel to Montreal sooner rather than later. Having been back from our trip, sans kids might I add, I can now say ‘When can I go back?!’ Here is my travel guide to all those things that must be done while in Montreal.
Give me all the food and drinks.
Being a southern girl, I am all about my food. So let’s just talk about how amazing the food and drinks are in Montreal. I was told to eat poutin, which is one of the main dishes that Canada is known for. It definitely did not disappoint as neither did the famous Schwartz’s Deli, known for their most delicious smoked meats. From the poutin to the sandwiches to the coffees and scones, Montreal was full of delicious foods and drinks.

All those attractions.
I never expected we would walk about 14-15 miles each day while we were in Montreal. We wanted to take in each part of it while walking from one destination to the next. Now, we did Uber to dinner one night due to the rain as well as to the Montreal Botanical Gardens since it was at least a 25 minute drive from our hotel. Other than those 2 times, we walked everywhere.
By walking around Montreal, we were able to see so much more. We found ourselves in the middle of China Town one day and then able to pose next to a ginormous rabbit made out of cardboard pieces another. Can’t forget to mention all the beautiful artwork that can be found on the sides of many of the buildings throughout Montreal.
McCord Museum
This was the first museum we visited, and how interesting the major exhibition was! McCord Museum is a social history museum that celebrates life in Montreal. The major exhibition was on the history of the Polaroid, camera and it did not disappoint. Stop by the Mccord Museum to get a look into Montreal’s history!

Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
If you are a lover of all things related to fine arts, then the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is for you. It houses not only local artists’ work, but also other pieces of art that are beautiful, unique, and indescribable. The major exhibition is currently the Thierry Mugler Couturissme, a display of work on the French creator Thierry Mugler. This fashion exhibit is like none other than I have ever seen. I was amazed at the beauty of each aspect. Outside of the major exhibition, there was lots of beautiful and creative artwork. This is a must-visit museum while in Montreal.

Montreal Botanical Gardens
You don’t have to be a lover of flowers to enjoy the Montreal Botanical Gardens. Luckily, I love all my flowers and couldn’t get enough of the Botanical Gardens. We could have spent the entire day lounging and walking around this beautiful campus. See for yourselves. And yes, it was hard to only choose a few pictures to share!

Old Montreal
We did do a lot of walking around Downtown Montreal as well as Old Montreal. Old Montreal is such a beautiful area outside the ‘city’ of Montreal. Lots of beautiful shops, restaurants, and even lots of family fun at the Old Port of Montreal. While enjoying the scenery and cotton candy in Old Port of Montreal, we enjoyed a ride in largest observation wheel in Canada: La Grande roue de Montreal. The view is unbelievable from the top! I recommend all who visit Montreal to stop by the La Grande roue de Montreal and be mesmerized by the views.

And more fun around Montreal!
There is so much to do around Montreal! Beautiful places to stop and take pictures, eat, drink, as well as hiking the Mount Royal Park. Don’t wait too long to visit this beautiful and intriguing city. It has something to offer for each and every person who stops by to visit.
Until the next time, Montreal!
