You know what is one thing that has taken me a bit to do after moving into our new home? Hanging things up on our wall. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it is the fact that I am nervous about putting holes into these new walls or that I want it all to look perfect. Either way, I finally made the move and hung-up frames in our living room! I have recently become a huge fan of gold. Like I want it everywhere. Okay, not everywhere but you all know what I mean. Our kitchen had to have gold accessories as well as light fixtures. With our floor plan being open between the kitchen and living room, this gold overflows between the two living areas.
It was no wonder that I was going to go with gold frames in the living room to pull in the gold from the kitchen. When you have the products to do this, it makes it a whole lot easier!
How to design.
The first thing you need to decide is how many frames are you wanting to include in your gallery wall. This will be the determining factor of frame sizes as well as the wall space you have to work with. I knew I was going to be working with the area right over our console table. I measured the wall space above it.
From there, I laid out my frames and decided how I wanted them to look on the wall. Measuring is key! With a gallery wall, you want them all to look great in relation to each other. Another thing to note is leveling them all. It may seem easier to just measure and hang, but you need to make sure they are all level. For my 3 frames, I had them spaced 2″ apart. This worked well with the spacing I was working with.
