How to Wear a Velvet Jumpsuit

How to Wear a Velvet Jumpsuit Outside of Fall/Winter

April 24, 2019 · In: Fashion

I never realized how much I would love wearing jumpsuits until I actually wore one. For the longest time, I didn’t see myself ever wearing one. How would my short self ever pull of wearing a jumpsuit that looks like it was made for those with a longer-legged body? Well, that thought is of the past now. I adore all styles off jumpsuits. I believe with the right pattern, style, belted or not belted, jumpsuits can work for everyone. This velvet jumpsuit is an example of how it can be worn by everyone in many different ways.

Velvet outside of those cooler months.

As with the first thought of wearing a jumpsuit, I never fathomed wearing velvet outside of those cooler months (which there are not many here in Louisiana). Velvet only in cooler months is a thing of the past when you are talking about lighter velvet material. Not all velvet is created equal. This velvet jumpsuit was created for those in warmer areas in mind.

The Velvet Jumpsuit.

I grabbed this blush velvet jumpsuit from Forever21 for multiple reasons: the color, the softness of the velvet, and the overall style. I love the belted feature! No matter what my reasons, this jumpsuit needs to be in everyone’s closet. The price is great along with the quality. You can also wear it all year long! Yep, you heard me right. This jumpsuit is made to be worn all year round. Like I mentioned above, I am from the south, and those cool months are very rare around here.

Even with battling the heat and humidity here, this jumpsuit is a win. I wouldn’t wear it in the middle of the day during the month of July, but will walk around downtown New Orleans or sit for a few drinks on a summer night. Here is how I style it during the cooler and warmer months!

Put a jacket on it.

Throwing on a cute jacket never hurt any outfit, especially when it comes to this jumpsuit. For a dresser look, a black blazer will go perfect. I am obsessed with wearing blazers right now.

A blue jean jacket instead of the black blazer will give a more casual look, and I never thought I would be wearing a blue jean jacket again!

The great thing about this jumpsuit is that it looks great alone as well! I can’t say how much I love this jumpsuit! Take my word, you need it in your closet too.

You look adorable! I enjoy posts like this because a velvet jumpsuit is so not my style, but I really enjoy seeing how other people make it work in various looks.

What do you do with these 3 things : @appalachian_ What do you do with these 3 things : @appalachian_cast_iron , LSU Football, and 1st tailgate of the season? You make a great recipe perfect for tailgating of course! This Handmade Carbon Steel Skillet from Appalachian Cast Iron is not only much easier to cook with compared to cast iron, each skillet is truly unique! The hammered texture is unique for each skillet, but the handle is even hand made and practical. With the precision grind of the cook surface, there is enough “tooth” for the seasoning to adhere - no worries of that seasoning flaking off like some carbon steel skillets. Also, you can personalize the bottom of the skillet!

Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
-1/2 white onion, diced
-1 red bell pepper, sliced
-1 1/2 cups sliced bella mushrooms
-1 tbsp minced garlic
-1 lb shaved beef steak
-~2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-5-6 slices of provolone
-salt/ pepper to taste
-Hawaiian Rolls

Add onion, red bell pepper, garlic to hot skillet and cook until tender, add mushrooms, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and salt/pepper and cook down until mushrooms darken and are more tender. Add water as needed; remove from skillet and add seasoned shave beef to a hot pan. Add 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and cook until meat is no longer pink. Add veggie mix back to pan and top with provolone. Allow to cook until cheese is melted. Serve on sliced Hawaiian Rolls!
