June starts our kids’ birthday celebrations. All three of my kids were born in the hottest months of the year: June, August and September. Hosting a birthday party during these months requires either lots of water or some good ol’ air conditioner. My oldest went for the lots of water aspect this year. A pool party birthday party with a mermaid party theme. Check out all that her party had to offer!
Mermaid Decorations Galore.
A mermaid party theme is a popular choice among the summer months. Actually, it is great for any birthday month. I can remember having a Little Mermaid birthday party growing up. Yes, I still love the Little Mermaid. With the quarantine still in place (Phase 2 here in Louisiana), we went for a very low key party and party supplies purchased through the Target Drive-Up pickup.
Check out all the great mermaid party supplies that Target had for our pool party:
Gadgets and Gizmos a plenty.
Can’t forget those little party favors! We didn’t go with a mermaid theme for the actual party favors, but did have mermaid theme gift bags. They matched perfect with the party colors. For the party favors, we went with lip glosses, mini notepads, and stackable crayons.
Party Fun around the pool.
For our pool party, we spent lots of time in the pool. Then there was some slime making when we were drying out for the cake and presents. What kid doesn’t love swimming with a side of slime making? We grabbed our fun slime making kits from, you got it, Target!
Drum roll for this cake!
For the food, we ordered pizzas. Keeping it simple, real simple. Then for the cake. Y’all, I am all for a birthday cake that represents the theme of the party. My oldest saw this design on the Les Amis Bake Shoppe‘s instagram page and had to have it. Can you see why? It was not only beautiful, but it tasted so good!
Simple and successful.
There is nothing like a party that is not only simple but successful. This pool party was just that. If you are opting for a pool party, make sure you have lifeguards on duty. You can either hire them out or book a party at a local pool facility that has them already. Safety comes first when it comes to pool parties! Other than checking off lifeguards from the list, all these party supplies were picked up from Target, pizza from Dominos, and cake from an amazing local bakery, Les Amis Bake Shoppe.
Hugs!
