February 14th, also known as Valentine’s Day, is one of my favorite holidays outside of Christmas. I truly love all things celebrating Valentine’s Day when it comes to my kids. Don’t get me wrong here. I love celebrating it with my husband, but lets face it. When your husband isn’t a true romantic and you add kids into the picture, VDay is not the most romantic day for us as a couple. Which is fine with me because we celebrate it with our kids, whom we truly love with all our hearts!
Decorating for Valentine’s Day
As with Christmas, decorating our home for Valentine’s Day is so much fun. Maybe it is just all the pinks and cheerful thoughts of ‘love’ all around the house. My kids love to have our house decorated for the holidays. It gets them into the mood for all things related to that particular holiday!
I like to keep it simple though. Too much of a good thing is well, too much. You can decorate and get the mood set with just the simplest of home decor. Here are a few things that I found to keep Valentine’s Day around our home and at a great price. Plus you can mix and match it all!
Hearth & Hand Glass Cloche
I am sure by know if have at least heard of Magnolia’s new line at Target, Hearth and Hand. It is all things farmhouse chic, which I love. Nothing like using the simplicity of the farmhouse style to keep your house decorated and looking chic at the same time. With all of this being said, I love this glass cloche. You can do so much with it when it comes to seasonal decor.
What is even better is the price, at only $14.99. That is a bargain in my opinion when it can be used for so much!
Heart-shaped ring tray
Ring trays can be a saving grace when it comes to keeping up with jewelry, especially when you have little ones running around with reaching hands (you all with kids know what I mean by those ‘reaching hands’). With a price of only $1, why not?
Threshold Faux Pink Peony stem
Flowers. I absolutely love flowers, faux and the real thing. Adding flowers to your home just gives it extra ‘life’. They are not only cheerful, but an easy way to add a pop of color without going overboard. So with Valentine’s Day being around the color, I of course went with the pink and white theme in regard to faux flowers.
This pink peony stem is not only beautiful in appearance, but that color pink y’all. It adds that perfect pop of pink making me not only ready for Valentine’s Day but also spring.
Pink and Gold Rimmed ‘Love is in the Air’ Scented Candle
Who are you if you don’t love candles? Ok, I am seriously joking (well sort of). Candles are my jam. I have at least 5-10 candles in my home, but who’s counting? Candles are one of those home decorating items that not only add to the decor, but bring along that amazing scent. Candles are one of my go-to’s when it comes to needing just a little something in a particular niche.
Now this candle that I grabbed at Target is the perfect fit for Valentine’s Day. Not only it’s name gives it away. The pink-tinted glass holder with the gold rim screams all things romantic in my opinion. Did I mention it was only $3?
Hearth and Hand Yellow Fluted Vase
Another great item from the Hearth and Hand brand, a yellow fluted vase. This vase is so pretty y’all. The yellow-tinted glass gives it an antique feel, changing it up when it comes to those basic vases. It was the perfect match for the pink peony stem. Another great price at only $4.
Tabletop Faux Floral-white rose
Here I go again with those faux flowers. I told y’all I love them, and I wasn’t exaggerating. This tabletop faux floral white rose is the perfect addition to any area where you just need a little something. The white rose doesn’t give too much when it comes to attention, but it is a beautiful way to fill a space. The vase it comes in already has the faux water in it making the entire decor look more realistic. Take it from me, faux flowers when picked right, can really change up your home decor. And this is in a good way. This simple tabletop faux floral decor was only $3.
Keeping it simple can be easy and cheap.
As you can see from the items above, decorating for Valentine’s Day can be so simple. Adding a few things here and there is really all you need to do to get your home in the Valentine’s Day spirit. The great prices at Target make it even more worth your while to decorate for Valentine’s Day.
Wishing you all a happy Valentine’s Day and happy decorating!
This is all so sweet and simple! I love that!
Thank you! I love all things simple!
The heart shaped ring tray is a steal for $1. They would make the perfect club favors.
Seriously though!
Love the glass cloche over the little vase with flower… it is like Beauty of the Beast. lo. So cute.
You know what, it definitely is haha!
I love your Valentine’s Day decor, especially the heart-shaped ring tray! I try to keep it simple, too.
Thank you! Always trying to find ways to keep it simple around here 🙂
I also have the yellow Hearth and Hand vase and I love it. I’m really impressed with some of the pieces in this line. I also love that it’s so easy to access at Target.
Me too! I love that line!
Valentine’s day, is always such a difficult holiday to decorate for. But you have just inspired me to keep it simple and beautiful!
I have found it difficult in the past to decorate. I am not all about the overbearing hearts, etc. This keeps it really simple 🙂
