I don’t know of a dog who doesn’t love both peanut butter and some Cheerios. Do you? Well, we all know that Valentine’s Day is around the corner. I have already bought my kids’ Valentine’s, but couldn’t forget about the newest fur baby of the family! So here I am with a new recipe perfect for those special pups in your life: dog treats perfect for Valentine’s Day!
Cheerios: perfect for pup training.
I remember when I first learned about dogs loving those Cheerios. I mean, I know I love them! When we had a dog trainer come into our home, he was using Cheerios to reward the pup. I couldn’t believe it! He said that they are the perfect way to treat your pups and much cheaper than buying those ‘healthier’ treats from the store. There was no wonder that this family-loved cereal was going to make its way into our pup’s treat collection along with his other love: peanut butter.
The perfect combo: peanut butter and Cheerios.
All dogs love peanut butter. I have even let my pup eat creamy peanut butter off of a spoon, lol. My pantry is stocked with multiple ‘healthy’ treats, but I need something that isn’t so expensive for all of this potty training and other obedience training we are doing.
If you are looking for a treat just like this, then these peanut butter and Cheerios dog treats are for you….well your pup! They are ready under 20 minutes and will have your dog barking for more.
Easy dog treats.
You will note that my recipe uses a molded silicon tray. I found mine at Target in the beloved ‘holiday-discount’ section. If you don’t have a small-mold silicon tray, you can just roll out this dough onto parchment paper or a lightly wheat-floured surface. Use a small-sized cookie cutter to cut out small little dog treats. Bake the same exact way! These make for the most perfect Valentine’s Happy for that special fur baby/babies in your life!
Get to baking.
You may already have everything you need for the dog treats. It only consists of 4 ingredients!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of peanut butter, creamy
1/2 cup of Cheerios
1/4 cup + 1 tbsp beef broth
1 cup of whole wheat flour
Baking:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl; it will be a thick dough mixture
3. Fill each silicon mold with the batter or roll it out on a lightly floured surface and use a cookie cutter to create dog treats.
4. Bake for about 10 minutes.
5. Let them completely cool before storing or feeding to your fur baby.
6. Ration these out! Like any other treat, you don’t want to overfeed them with treats 😉

My dogs both love peanut butter and cheerios. Cheerios is what we used to train both of them! So, I know they are going to love me for making these dog treats.
