Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cereal Bites

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cereal Bites

April 30, 2018 · In: More Recipes

As a mother of 3, cereal is one of those things we will always have a stock of in our pantry. I am not going to lie here. I am a lover of cereal as well. It can be healthy, sugary, very kiddie with all the marshmallows. I LOVE CEREAL. There I said it. No more hiding the truth or blaming all those boxes on my kids. If you are like me, then you will love these peanut butter and chocolate cereal bites.

For the love of cereal.

One thing that I love about cereal is that it will never grow old. There is always a new one popping out on the shelf. We picked up a box just the other day that was unicorn themed. Say what?! As I said above, it can also be healthy. I love to mix the healthy versions in my yogurt. Enough about me. My kids could eat it all day if I would let them. Put a handful in a bowl, in yogurt or even milk. They are happy. Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cereal Bites

It wasn’t hard to use cereal for this recipe. Everyone has eaten or at least heard of a rice krispie treat. As I stared at a box of chocolate peanut butter cereal the other day (not sure why I was staring at it, maybe mom brain?), I thought about how great it would be to make a rice krispie treat version with it.

So, here is a recipe of just that. I did want to mix it up a tad and added a scoop of peanut butter with the other two main ingredients. I believe it was the perfect addition. My kids loved them. As soon as my oldest walked in the house, her attention was quickly brought to the plate of these delicious bites.

What are these tasty looking things?!

When I informed her of what they were, they quickly disappeared. Guessing it is time to make another batch  😉

It takes the original rice krispie treat recipe to the next level by adding peanut butter & chocolate cereal, marshmallows, and peanut butter. You will want to keep these ingredients in stock for when you run out of these cereal bites!

2 chicken breast ( butterfly them open)
1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs
~ 1 tbsp Aglio Olio Seasoning Blend ( Trader Joe’s)
2-3 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 roll bread of Garlic Parmesan Butter ( from TJ)
Pack of noodles ( Gigli from TJ)
4oz Cream Cheese
12oz Shredded Italian Cheese ( Quattro Formaggi from TJ)
1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese
Mozzarella Peals
16 oz Chicken Bone Broth
Salt & Pepper to taste ( plus salt water for pasta)

Preheat oven to 350.
Prepare noodles, drain and set aside- want to be al dente.
In small bowl, add Aglio Olio and bread crumbs to bowl and mix; butterfly chicken breasts and toss in olive oil, then cover in bread crumbs mixture.
Heat about 1 tbsp of oil in Caraway saute pan, and cook chicken for about ~4 minutes each side. Remove chicken and add cheese on top and place in oven to bake for ~15 minutes.
While chicken bakes, add the butter to sauté pan and melt; add chicken bone broth; once heated, add cream cheese and cheeses. Stir on and off ( make sure cheese doesn’t stick and burn) and add seasonings. Once cheeses have melted, toss in pasta. Sprinkle rest of cheese on top as well as scattered mozzarella pearls. Put lid on and lower heat to low, allow to cook longer to melt cheese. Serve with chicken! #FriendsOfCaraway #traderjoesfinds #traderjoeshaul #onedish
